The Romeo High School Bowling Program is self funded. In an effort to keep the costs down, the team has multiple fund raisers. It costs approximately $500 per bowler to cover practice, uniforms, conference lineage, tournament lineage, awards, coaching, and administration expenses to run the team. The past two seasons, the team has been able to reduce the out of pocket fee's significantly to the pay-to-play fee or less for many athletes.
The bowling team is lucky enough to staff the concession stand for two football games the past two years. Athletes parents who work these events receive a benefit which reduces their expenses for the team. Those athletes parents who do not particpate, will share in some of the proceeds, but do not get the full benefit as those who participated. The proceeds from this event are used to purchase uniforms for the team and help pay for bowling expenses (practice, lineage).
This season will mark the 5th in a row where Romeo hosts two Highs School Bowling tournaments. The proceeds generated from these two events are shared by all the team members and used to pay for team expenses. All athletes / parents are expected to participate with these two events. The tournaments page has details about this seasons events
Thanks to Eileen's idea, last season the sponsor banner contributed to our team nicely last season.
