The,
Romeo High School bowling teams opened their MAC Red conference schedule against
Utica Ford II.
The
varsity boys posted an impressive win with a 17-13 victory. The team roster includes
Conrad Brown, Alec Shipman, Adam Brown,
Jon Pasqual and Brandon Brown. The win was a
well-rounded team effort by all five bowlers. C. Brown led the scoring with a
267 game. His brother, A. Brown, was close
behind with a 246 game and his other brother, B. Brown, with a 222. Shipman
contributed a 225 and Pasqual added a 244 game.
In the match, B. Brown converted a 4-6-7-10 split to electrify the
crowd.
The
varsity girls suffered a close 16-14 loss. The team of Alicia Harbin, Rachel Hayden,
Sarah Kennedy, Kaylla Koster and Shannon
Kelley swept the Baker portion of the match. Kelley led the scoring with 208
and 225 games. Koster was next highest with a 181.
The
boys' junior varsity team was missing a bowler in their line-up which makes it
difficult to win. The team of Matthew Fazzalare,
Michael Steffens, Andrew Nelson and Josh Bobek bowled with Bulldog determination, but were unable to overcome
missing a team member. Bobek led the team’s
scoring with 163 and 165 games.
The
junior varsity girl’s team also struggled. The team of Amanda Harwood, Karyssa
Page, Meagan Ruby, Chelsey Daley and April Soule were unable to overcome first
match nerves, fatigue and execution errors to earn a victory. Soule was high
scorer for the team with games of 148 and 197.
